[00:00:00] Daily Intercessors Update September 26, 20206 Friends, sit with me for a few minutes. The work Paul gave Timothy has not changed. Prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings for all people and for those who hold authority so that we might live a quiet and godly life. That is 1st Timothy 2:1:2 today the names are a middle school in New Mexico, a maternity ward in Kiev, a diplomat in Taipei, an election that still has no date in Caracas and a fire line outside Benton City.

[00:00:52] DL Moody Our first prayer focuses the staff members shot outside Highland Middle School in Hobbs. The Albuquerque Journal reports that on Friday a 13 year old boy was taken into custody after he allegedly shot a Highland Middle School staff member outside the school.
[00:01:11] Superintendent Gene Strickland said the staff member had confronted the boy at about 11:30am the boy produced a handgun and other staff tended the wounded man until medics arrived.
[00:01:25] He was taken from Covenant Health Hobbs Hospital to a hospital in Lubbock and was reported in stable condition.
[00:01:33] Hobbs police, the Lee County Sheriff and New Mexico State Police were on the search.
[00:01:40] The district canceled the Hobbs High School homecoming parade. Students at Highland and at Coronado elementary were secured. No mode motive has been given.
[00:01:52] Father, put your hand on that wounded man in Lubbock and on the people who love him.
[00:01:58] Steady the teachers who saw it happen. Have mercy on a 13 year old who now sits in custody and on his family.
[00:02:06] Give Hob's parents a night of sleep and give the detectives a clear account of what led to that gun.
[00:02:13] Jesus, we speak peace over Highland Middle School and over the streets around it. We refuse to let this child's life or that staff member's life be written off as one more headline.
[00:02:27] Guard the hallways when class resumes. Let truth come out and let revenge find no room in that town.
[00:02:36] Our second prayer focus is the maternity hospital in Kyiv and the child born while the sirens were sounding. Kyiv Post reports that President Zelensky on Friday walked through a maternity hospital hit in Russia's 9-23-24 ballistic attack.
[00:02:56] Patients and staff had sheltered. No one inside that hospital was hurt.
[00:03:01] He met the mother of a baby boy born during the overnight strike, and he wrote that every woman deserves to give birth without sirens and every newborn deserves to begin life in peace.
[00:03:15] The same wave of attacks killed seven people in the capital, Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said. Among them a 14 year old Israeli boy whose mother was wounded End of Saturday, a drone hit a private clinic in the obolansky district while 26 patients were inside.
[00:03:36] Sixteen were moved to city hospitals. Three people were hurt, two of them seriously. A separate strike on an office building in the Solomiansky district killed four. Zelensky also said President Trump has approved licenses for Ukraine to produce Patriot missiles.

[00:04:00] Comfort the family of the boy who was killed and the mother who was wounded beside him.
[00:04:05] Cover the patients moved out of the Obolansky Clinic. Give wisdom to President Zelensky and to President Trump as they decide what air defense will actually reach these roofs. In Jesus name we stand against the targeting of maternity wards, clinics and children.

[00:04:28] Let the interceptors be where the missiles are. Spare the innocent in Kyiv and spare the innocent under the drones. Ukraine is sending the other way. We ask for an end to this killing, not a speech about it.
[00:04:43] Our third prayer focus is Taipei's answer after the Trump Xi summit closed with no agreement on Taiwan Reuters reports that President Trump and President Xi ended a three day summit on Friday without a public breakthrough on Taiwan.
[00:05:00] Xi told Trump he hoped the United States would hold what Beijing calls the correct position of opposing Taiwan's independence.
[00:05:09] In Taipei on Saturday, Deputy Foreign Minister Francois Wu asked whether giving Taiwan away would serve American interests at all. He said continued arms sales, enough strength for the island to defend itself and room for Taiwan's semiconductor plants to keep supplying the world or end the interest of the United States.
[00:05:35] Father, give Francois Wu, President Trump and President Xi words that do not trade away a free people for a quieter week. Protect the congregations on that island who will worship tomorrow whether or not a communique mentions them. Keep the Taiwan Strait from becoming the next battlefield and keep the men who make these decisions from mistaking silence for peace.
[00:06:04] Jesus, we ask you to restrain the appetite to swallow Taiwan. Give the church there courage that does not depend on a summit photo.
[00:06:15] Let factories, families and pastors stay in place and let no backroom bargain hand them over.
[00:06:22] Our fourth prayer focus is Caracas, where the promised election still has no date. The Straits Times reports that Interim President Delsey Rodriguez came to the United nations looking for deals on debt, oil and mining and left with photographs beside President Trump and no signed agreements.
[00:06:47] She told the General assembly that Venezuela would hold elections on the way to what she called full democracy.
[00:06:53] She did not bring home a date.
[00:06:56] Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the talks covered the country's debt and that Washington pressed for political change. His line was that the project succeeds only if it ends in a free and fair election.
[00:07:12] While Rodriguez was in the United States, opposition leader Maria Corina Machado was again blocked from flying home from Panama. Father, do not let a photograph stand in for a ballot.
[00:07:26] Open the road home for Maria Corina Machado.
[00:07:31] Give pastors and ordinary voters in Venezuela courage to ask for a real election date and give Rodriguez and Rubio no rest until that date is public. Provide for families who are still waiting to see whether this transition is a door or a delay. Jesus, we refuse a managed silence in place of a free vote. Guard Machado's life.

[00:08:01] Let the next announcement from Caracas be a day when people can choose their own government without a gun at the count.
[00:08:10] Our fifth prayer focus is the Second Street Fire pushing toward homes outside Benton City, Washington.
[00:08:18] Como News reported Friday that the fire started about 2:40pm in grass and brush near Benton City and that Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste sent state crews after a call from Deputy Fire Chief Dan Drayton of Benton County Fire District 4.
[00:08:38] Level 3 evacuations were ordered, six wildland strike teams were requested and the state Emergency center at Camp Murray was fully activated by Saturday morning. The fire was listed at about 149 acres with no containment burning toward West Richland.
[00:08:59] Interstate 82 was shut between Benton City and Richland. An evacuation shelter is open at Kybee High School on Horn Drive. Homes and vehicles have already burned. Downed lines along Kennedy Road cut power. The cause is listed as human activity and is still under investigation. Father keep the families who slept at Kybee High School. Give the strike teams a wind they can work in. Protect the houses still standing on the east side of this fire and bring the crews home when the shift ends.
[00:09:32] Comfort people who watched a car or a roof go and give the investigators an honest answer about how it started. Jesus, we ask you to hem this fire in, spare the lives on those evacuation streets, let the shelter have enough beds and let Benton City still be a place people can return to.
